Ranking KRS-One’s First Nine Albums
Every other week some bullshit blogger ranks Kanye West albums, so here’s a ranking that’s actually worth a damn. I stopped after 1997 because I haven’t enjoyed any of them enough to remember much about them after point.
Six Unreleased Three Times Dope Songs For Ya Bonkey
Thanks to YouToober OGDonNinja, five previously vaulted tracks (that sound like they were recorded closer to the Live From Acknickuolous Land sessions than Da Sequel 3) have recently surfaced. For longtime fans of this Philly trio, this is manna from heaven.
Video: Unkut TV Episode 24 – A Trip To The UGHH Store
What with the closure and surprise re-opening of UGHH, I thought I’d dig up this unseen footage of the time rich direction and myself visited the store while in Boston. Hopefully this guys bizarre haircut won’t hamper his search for a new job…
The Run The Jewels Dilemma
Is that a Parliment, an American Spirit or a Newport? Feeling confused and/or guilty that you’re not frothing at the mouth over the third RTJ album after reading gushing reviews from both well-established critics and Hipster Music Mafia interns? Fear not, for you are not alone.
Download: A Salute To Rap Demos, Volume Two
Here’s a follow up to the 2015 compilation, focusing on artists that went on to do something else rather than just gather dust in an A&R’s desk drawer who aren’t named Nas, Biggie or Mobb Deep. Download: A Salute To Rap Demos, Volume Two Track list:
Download: A Salute To 90s Rap Instrumentals
Calm down, there are zero Artifacts beats on this compilation. Download: A Salute To…

Here are the best forty rap songs of the year, according to the Conservative Rap Coalition. Please note that there’s a limit of one track per release, which made for some tough decisions. Play this loud and often, until your neighbours want to fight you. Download: The Unkut 40 Oz. 2016 *UPDATE: One track changed…

According to DJ Woody Wood, he and Chuck Nice originally formed the Parkside Hustlers crew in Hunting Park in South Philly in 1984 before they met EST and became Three Times Dope. They signed with Pop Art in 1987, and released two singles on the Hilltop…
The LOX – Filthy America…It’s Beautiful album review
A press shot from the salad days… Styles P, Sheek Louch and Jadakiss have done a pretty good job of sticking to their guns as far as maintaining their CRC-approved status as rappers over the years in terms of subject matter and delivery. Where they’ve often let themselves down, however, has been in the beat…
J. Cole – 4 Your Eyez Only album review
This is what J. Cole will look like in 2018 based on his current trajectory. Last week I pitched my White Gal Rap feature for my weekly column but was met with a less than enthusiastic response, possibly on the grounds of it being overly ‘problematic.’ So I foolishly suggested that I give J. Cole…
The Unkut Guide To White Gal Rap
Women in rap have always had an uphill battle, in that even female rap fans don’t seem to be particularly interested in hearing girls rapping if record sales are anything to go by. White chicks in rap have the natural advantage of still being enough of a gimmick that it’s easier to overlook things like…
