I happily paid $20 for the RR1 prerelease which I didn’t feel so bad about, since dude has given us at least one release for free. But damn, $25 for a digital album? Not even a tape with it?

  4. AC THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR says:

Drum-less Hip-Hop is an oxymoron!!! His subject matter is negative and played the fuck out. HIPSTERS YOUR MUSIC IS WACK!

  5. chris says:
    February 16, 2018 at

So Roc is music for hipsters now? Hipster must mean different things to different people

  6. STFU says:

  7. Dino says:

Waiting for the vinyl to drop???

  9. Crac Russell says:
    February 17, 2018 at

Yep. Hip Hop without drums ain’t Hip Hop. It’s very simple & shouldn’t be hard to understand.

  10. LOLS says:

Preordering?Buying stuff that has no release date? Buying digital audio? YOU NIGGAS ARE HILARIOUS.

  11. 3BM-Ark says:
    February 19, 2018 at

He’s cool on the mic, has some original styling for sure… Still undecided if he is a little overrated or if I’m missing something. I think KA is slept on though, go figure!

  12. ceedub says:
    February 19, 2018 at

25 bucks for a digital download is a fucking insult, I don’t give a shit how dope the stuff is.

  13. Roger says:
    February 19, 2018 at

Hopefully no drumless beats this time…

  14. $yk says:
    February 19, 2018 at

The oxymoron is so-called CRC elitists talking about drums when there’s plenty of drum empty, no beat songs in these Hip-Hop archives y’all swear to have witnessed…. bunch of rap Pharisees on here…carry on tho

  15. Crac Russell says:
    February 19, 2018 at

    Examples?

  16. 3BM-Ark says:
    February 20, 2018 at

Does a rimshot (know homo) count?

  17. Crac Russell says:
    February 20, 2018 at

    Nope. Thems same drums.

  18. Pete Concrete says:
    February 20, 2018 at

@$YK U said it. AC cutdamn u wack as fuck!!! Roc Marci saved hip hop on his very own after a fuckin decade of shitty ringtone / Trap trash. Hipster?? Man u are so way off I dont even know where to begin…
The only thing I can agree on is 25 $ for a download?? Nah man thats almost an insult.
Lookin forward 2 the vinyl tho. R.R. was album of the year, no doubt!

  19. $yk says:
    February 20, 2018 at

What Roc is doing is nothing different than half of EPMD’s Strictly Business….most of that sampling era did that…let whatever essence of drum in said sample be the pattern…what u dudes call “no drums”…r1, pimpire, reloaded, marcberg got drums, cats hold on to fallacies for their own clout boost…this is not a debate… this is when cats show they ain’t the tru historians they try to exalt as self

  20. $yk says:
    February 20, 2018 at

S/o Pete…night of the living baseheads is another example…our dreams on Wu massacre…cut it out fellas

  21. Pete Concrete says:
    February 20, 2018 at

Yeah, Roci uses lots of drums both from original samplings and beyond. No different from a lot of so called 90s boom bap (hate that expression) Some people dont know good shit when it hit em right in there faces. Marcberg is a true modern classic, time has already told.
But enuff air wastd on ign’ant fools

  22. $yk says:
    February 20, 2018 at

Facts. As for the quarter for the tracks? Ain’t the cost for me… I just don’t do transactions online… I be that guy putting like 100 hits on them cuts via YouTube lol… someone tell fam I’ll send a money order & throw in that headband

  23. Crac Russell says:
    February 20, 2018 at

Samples with hard drums already in them aren’t the same as an LP full of tracks with loops that have ‘light’ percussion. I’m never talking about ‘Boom Bap’ btw. Drums are the foundation & backbone of Hip Hop. Always will be in my book.

  24. $yk says:
    February 20, 2018 at

Hiphop history proves thru songs like Paul Revere and it’s percussion in reverse…that your definition is folly… Kane had “light” drums on half stepping and young gifted and black… trust I’m not tryna change your “opinion”, I’m showing the crew how wrong u are

  25. Noah fence says:
    February 21, 2018 at

Yo I wanna hear these unreleased busta collabs I never heard of this till just recently

  26. Crac Russell says:
    February 21, 2018 at

Paul Revere by your own admission has reverse DRUMS. So you think Blind Alley has light drums? It has some of the toughest drums ever for a soul break. The Albert King sample on Young Gifted & Black also has full drums in it. Incomparable to the loops Roc Marci uses for a lot of his stuff.

  27. $yk says:
    February 21, 2018 at

what debate are you trying to have u just admitted the man has drums

  28. $yk says:
    February 21, 2018 at

Cat trying to engage in an opinionated type-fest, $yk don’t do that

  29. Crac Russell says:
    February 22, 2018 at

Your chattin absolute sh!t about 80’s & 90’s Hip Hop not having drums. Your saying classic breaks don’t have drums. Your saying classic Hip Hop tracks don’t have drums. And calling others wrong? Your saying I said shit I never said. Classic sign of a lost argument.

Somebody trolled all of us … Great troll work, but one thing he got fucked up about me and everybody else who fell for this person’s troll job: The concept that I would ever talk about a record I have never heard (yet) is the REAL “oxymoron” …

I am a real fan of Roc Marc who only likes hearing him on finished production, and I would NEVER talk about any records of his that I have not heard yet. This is not out, I have not heard it, and would not comment like this on it before hearing it.

One of the producers of this is a great friend of mine, we talked about this and agree, this is great troll work. We applaud the troll, great effort. But no cigar.

The troll might be Rob, or one of his homies, tryin to build a wedge between friends. I don’t troll Rob or this site, I stay the fuk away 99.9999% of the time. Sometimes I stumble upon something from this blog and feel compelled to remind Rob what a toy ass kissing devil yesman groupie vulture he is to the culture, but I would never comment on a record I have not heard yet. And this is the moral to this troll story.

  31. Robbie says:
    February 22, 2018 at

@AC: Please enlighten us to what you have deemed REAL HIP HOPZ this week so that us lesser mortals can one day hope to attain your TRU SKOOL understanding.

  32. AC The PD says:
    February 22, 2018 at

    @Robbie

I do a new mix every week finding and sharing good-change, to provide you with examples of what par is for 2018: http://www.Mixcloud.com/acthepd

I have released 9 albums of my original production in the past 3 years and 8 albums of music by Jess The Facts which you can catch up with at: http://www.acthepd.Bandcamp.com

You can find our albums on all the mediums, just #Googleithomie

That should provide a good answer to your questions.

  33. doughjoe says:
    February 22, 2018 at

yall dudes complaining about “no drums” are no different from baby boomer dads still listening to the same led zeppelin albums from 40 years ago. go listen to illmatic for the 4,000th time and let us enjoy some new shit

  34. AC The PD says:
    February 22, 2018 at

For the record: A half-done (or less-than-half-done) beat is wack. Period. There are very few exceptions or excuses for half-ass production. Only suckers and toys give passes to half-ass production under pretty much almost any circumstances … When you see somebody riding the bandwagon of some weak half-ass production, like Quiet Storm from Mobb Deep, you know you’re dealing with a toy or a sucker. Anybody giving that shit a pass is dead wack. 100%

Now I am a huge Roc Marc fan, when his beats are not lacking production. Don’t get it twisted.

But I have not heard this new record and would never judge it before I heard it.

  40. AC The PD says:
    February 23, 2018 at

Rob is a toy, perpetrator, ass-kissing yesman groupie, a fake-fan, a devil in disguise, only fooling the fools. A vulture, taker, misrepresentation, sucker, game-player … It ain’t hard to tell… Sometimes he is on point, but most of the time he’s fakin the funk like only toys do. If he wasn’t, he would have formed a unity with me a long time ago. Time and actions have told. But, as for this person playin me in this chat, I am AC The PD up in here. Nobody else is me. I would never talk about a record I ain’t heard yet, nor would I say “hipster” …

  41. AC The PD says:
    February 23, 2018 at

I’am ADAMN CLAYTON AKA AC THE PD! This other imposter is not me. I know more about Hip-Hop than anybody ever! I have 9 albums out that nobody has heard not even my immediate family. I have no friends, no girlfriend, no kids and I am off my medication. I am a very miserable person but I know more about Hip Hop than my psychologist who’s medication I refuse to take because that is NOT Hip-Hop!!!!!
I also masterbate to JJ-FAD & TARRIE B at the same time. MY 9 ALBUMS SO HIP-HOP NOBODY BUT ME HAS HEARD THEM!!!!
Black People hate me especially the founders of Hip Hop but they dont know hip hop as well as I.
I am going to play a Jurassic park song now and fondle my dog.

  44. Dino says:
    February 25, 2018 at

I can’t decide which is more pathetic: Somebody proud to be “AC the Programme Director” OR somebody pretending to be “AC The Programme Director.” Either way, demanding Robbie “form a unity” with you is fruitier and nuttier than that Cadbury’s Fruit & Nut bar I just ate.

The internet Gods need to show some compassion and slap a DNR notice on Unkut.

  45. THE REAL AC PROGRAM DIRECTOR says:
    February 25, 2018 at

The first 2 posters aren’t me. I’m me!! I have 11 albums that I sell to strangers in the street. Usually they give me money so I go away. Still counts as a sale in my book!!

  46. Blanco says:
    February 27, 2018 at

It’s always funny when people are making excuses for his “no drums” production by saying “he has drums”… It’s our foul because we just don’t hear them – drums are actually there, ha-haa
He was amongst first to come out with that modern day “no drum” production, so it has worked for him obviously – why he should change it if people are already calling it aoty without even hearing it, lol. To me – I don’t really get his phenomenon.. I also don’t think he sounded that special before he started making that a capella rap, so who knows.. But I would like him to surprise us with drums we can actually hear for once – for the whole album!

Just listened to the new album.

I enjoy… Tent City, Bedspring King, 67 Lobby and Power. The joint featuring Action Bronson joint is ok I guess.

The Sauce is WACK!! Don’t like Kill You either. LOL at Muse… typical no drums wackness. smh

I think last year’s Rosebudd’s Revenge is easily better. And of the two albums, the best song BY FAR is still Rosebudd’s Revenge produced by Don Cee aka Don Chalant of Arch Druids.

  50. AC The PD says:

This blog is dead to the culture 100% … in every way. Period. I will never come back here. Anybody posting here under anything like my name is trolling you. Fuk this blog.

“This blog is dead to the culture 100%”

And, yet… Where are you, first thing in the morning after getting your kids off to school?
You’re wild corny with your (misdirected?) hate, fam. Oh, and I heard your music… That’s gonna be a ‘NO’ for me, dawg.
Btw, fare well, and safe travels @AC the literal fxcking whatever. Piece (ha!) out.

  52. WiCkEd22 says:
    February 28, 2018 at

AC, stop bein a fAG. If anyone’s a toy, it would be you. Think of this… you used to be all about Vinyl cuz as any real head would know, HipHop and Vinyl go hand-in-hand, but you fell off… HARD!! You’ve released albums, but are any of them on Vinyl?? Nope. You used to talk shit about Digital DJ’s yet now you’re one of them. A little hypocritical, wouldn’t you say?? Anyways, as you know and have always known, I agree with you on A LOT of things in regards to HipHop Music & Culture. What I don’t agree with is you writing people off for making one or two mistakes. Should you be written off for the fact you’re now some fgt ass Digital DJ?? I don’t think so, but if we’re goin by the AC standard then yes, you should be written off and considered a TOY!! Anyways, keep doin your thing cuz I do respect a lot of it. Just STFU sometimes. Take it ez… peace

  53. WiCkEd22 says:
    February 28, 2018 at

Oh, and I still to this day buy all the newest (real) HipHop Vinyl & CD releases. Ain’t nuffin changed for me. I’m 30+ years deep into this HipHop shit. 30+ years of stayin current with all the newest HipHop releases. Just sayin…

  54. Chris says:
    February 28, 2018 at

Ya’ll are funny. Album is pretty solid to good. Not RR1, but there are great moments. I never thought of hip hop with no drums as not hip hop until ya’ll nerds brought it up (btw, you’re wrong). If you want that then get rick rubin to produce your whole lp.

  55. Robbie says:
    February 28, 2018 at

@Chris: Mr. Rubin has been dead to me since he worked with Linkin Park.

  56. Crac Russell says:
    March 1, 2018 at

I listened. The productions soft. On some yacht rock, 80’s Barry White, Jan Hammer stezz. A couple of sleepy soul samples. It’s a snooze fest from start to finish.

  57. Crac Russell says:
    March 1, 2018 at

Rick Rubin wouldn’t have a career without Led Zep, Mountain & Billy Squire drum breaks. He certainly ain’t what I’m talking about.

  58. Rick Downs says:
    March 1, 2018 at

I personally really like Bitter Dose. Can someone please tell me the sample used on the song Kill You??? I can’t figure that one out. Not the movie clips. The singing part. Peace and thanks!

  59. $yk says:
    March 2, 2018 at

La la la la la la….la la la la la…lissin…..lol

That’s all it was witchu bro…your opinion…at least you ain’t trying to disparage history in your folly now… carry on yo

As for the forum…the project is ok thru a few listens..1

  60. AC The PD says:
    March 2, 2018 at

Ok this is the last time I will comment on here because I know most of you are my fans and I owe you that much as I keep this culture alive all by lonesome.
If any of you pretending to be me heard my music you would agree I am a better producer than anyone can name and Roc’s boy who is my good friend like I stated earlier wants me to produce Roc’s next album and money was offered but I said NO. I DONT SUPPORT THIS FUCKERY!!!!!
Jess the facts and I love each other and are Hip-Hop’s bonnie and Clyde and we use drums on our albums you toy boys.
You europeans aren’t real Hip-Hop heads and you talk like fags. Especially irish and English.

  61. THE REAL AC PROGRAM DIRECTOR says:
    March 2, 2018 at

And I ain’t got no car, I’m 42, and try to hook up with 19 year old chicks on Facebook. Hip hop. One.

  62. Rick Downs says:
    March 4, 2018 at

Yo I’m not trying to get in the middle of any B.S. I am seriously trying hard to figure out the sample on Kill You. Yo Robbie, I even tried you on Twitter. I’m not some Eurotrash or something 😂 I kid, I kid.

  63. AC The PD says:
    March 9, 2018 at

The album is BORING as hell! Wack beats!!! No drums! Only faggot Hipsters listen to this shit who wear pants cuffed at the bottom of their legs and wear skinny jeans.

  64. Gx says:
    March 13, 2018 at

I laugh when ppl think roc and his cronies and clones are some kind of edgy music its the modern day rawkus or fat beats and its core audience is older people: I fuck with it though.

  65. DruBlast says:
    March 29, 2018 at

oh man, this hipster shit labeling gotta stop, these toys just throw it on anything these days which they dont get, KA has to be the most boring guy to ever get love on the mic from so-called real heads, straight zzzzz poetry music , Roc knows we dislike the drumless shit & just keeps going, its a waste of talent & our time to be disappointed again & again.
