Against all odds, producer Easy Mo Bee was able to overcome being a member of Rappin’ Is Fundamental to become THE sound of 1994, as he helped usher the Bad Boy label into the hearts of minds of rap fans everywhere, before the excess of the Shiny Suit era and Puffy’s insistence on stamping his name on everything drove him away. Undeterred, Mo Bee continued to bless everyone from Tupac to LL to Big Daddy Kane with his distinctive tracks. From his earlier soul-based sound through to his future shock excursions, Easy Mo’s sound is always brimming with atmosphere and bombast without ever overpowering the rapper.

Nice selections and a dope mix as usual Robbie. Only comment and while I love them both, instead of the 2 BDK cuts, why not J Rock – Get Rek, from his Streetwize LP, instead of Another Victory? Victory is one of my BDK favorites, but having the Daddy’s Home b-side opener is a great call and most likely overlooked by many, and Get Rek rocks a similar tempo and is born from a similar era. For those that don’t know, check it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWmR-agEyxs. Ignore the youtube description, liner notes confirm Mo Bee’s involvement. This is not a complaint, just a thought. Keep the salute series coming. So much dope material for the masses. Thanks
Good on ya, Robbie!

@blake: Both J Rock tracks were in the running but missed the final cut.
