So I needed a change of pace after the book and went back to making rap music, something I hadn’t done since the late nineties. Luckily Stan Ipcus and Genovese (hailing from White Plains and Yonkers, respectively) were down to let me make my own versions of their recent stuff so I wasn’t stuck doing Remix #300 of Das-EFX and Mobb Deep’s ‘Microphone Masters’ or Nas’ ‘It Ain’t Hard To Tell’. I pressed up 100 of these on 7″ but if all goes well I’ll follow up with something on a 12″ for the second release on Summer of Stout Records – the label that only cares about encouraging dark beers in warm climates while enjoying drums and sweet loops.
If you fux with this, you can get a copy from the CRC Big Cartel or the CRC Bandcamp. Otherwise, feel free to complain in the comments like it’s 2008 all over again.
p.s. I’m also working on some classic Unkut Dot Com research material so we will be returning to our regularly-scheduled broadcast next week.
Genovese has a new album in the works from what I seen on IG.
Nice remixes… I’d spin them. Dopeness!
