Erick and Parrish made some dollars, then “someone” robbed P’s crib and E Double “fell” out of a window. We’re all familiar with their many hit singles, but here are a selection of worthy album tracks from the seven group albums, plus a couple from when they went for “delf.”
“So Let The Funk Flow” [1988]
Great use of the “JB’s Monorail” loop.
“Get The Bozak” [1989]
The bass on this song can shatter windows.
“Hardcore” [1990]
Hell of an introduction for Redman to the rap world.
“Funky Piano” [1990]
Brilliant showcase for DJ Scratch‘s formidable talents.
“Boon Dox” [1992]
May be one of the hardest records ever made.
“Thought I Lost My Spot” [1994]
Parrish calls in The 45 King for a raw loop.
“Tell ‘Em” [1995]
The lone bright spot on Mr Sermon’ s ill-advised second solo LP.
“Last Man Standing” [1997]
One of the few spots that re-captured the chemistry on the first re-union LP.
“Hold Me Down” [1999]
Based on the rest of the content of this album, it was a welcome relief when they shut down shop for the next nine years.
“Never Defeat ‘Em” [2008]
This re-jigged DJ Honda cut benefited greatly from the new Method Man cameo.

Scratch Bring It Back…Im Mad
Last Man Standing Was the Shit, DJ Scratch use a BAD Mother!@#$%&&*!!
Dope list.
What about this?…http://youtu.be/TbM9YXI1fYI
I’d have gone for PMD ‘Many Often Wonder’ and E Doubles’ ‘Rock Da House’ for the single steez personally.
Add “Its Going Down” Brilliant loop from Marvin Gaye’s “I want You” song, played loud guaranteed to cave in your ear canals. I obviously hadn’t been paying close attention because Hank Shocklee helped out on this one. Was also featured on the “Juice” Soundtrack. Honorable salute to Mr.Westwood for playing this one at Dingwalls bitd.
“Im Housing” strictly LP version. Makes best use of the ‘Rock Steady’ break. Stand out track from the first LP.
rap is outta control. does anybody know what e dub is saying during the fade out when it sounds like he says he watched fishermen fucking? been trying to figure that line out for years. also ‘the big payback’, pure ’89 greatness.
rap is outta control.
and i never got all the way to the fishermen fuckin part of the fade out. wow! thanks for that.
also hear nothin but the music
Double or Nothing had some joints, though
P.m.d. business is business…..I leave your style cramped my crew can’t be touched
EPMD – Hear Nothing But The Music
Illest use of that Barbara Mason sample.
The Let the funk flow track is pretty dope , it’s my favorite track from the first LP.
Please Listen To My Demo might be their best song. the loop is crazy!
I know its the B Side to Crossover, but definitely worthy of a mention.
Shits too hard!

Chill and Cummin atcha are also dope
Always liked this one “Buy You Some” Too Short and Erick Sermon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCijZDd2xsI
But a great list regardless.
any track on on business as usual
That fade out on ‘Rap Is Outta Control’ is Parrish saying “when I take my fisherman hat off there’s no haps” then I could never tell.
‘I’m Mad’ remix
‘Get Off The Bandwagon’ remix
‘Nobody’s Safe Chump’
‘Knick Knack Paddy Wack’
get my votes
Pretty much any song from Business Never Personal, especially co-sign A to the L (Nothing But The Music is so ill) and P_gotstachill (only song I know where taking a nap sounds hard)
For My People from Business As Usual goes hard… actually, a GREAT deal of Usual was some of the hardest shit of ’91. Def. one of the albums that brought East Coast hip-hop into the era of Timbs and hoodies.
K-Solo KILLING IT on Knick Knack Patty Wack
