Everyone who put their own album on their list needs to take a long, hard look at themselves, with the exception of Greg Nice who took it to another level.
If I’d been asked to list my own Five Favourite Albums of 1991 in January of 1992, based on what I listened to the most in my Walkman on the train, I’d have gone with:
– Organized Konfusion
– Scarface
– WC & The MADD Circle
– KMD
– Tim Dog
A certain December 1990 release dominating ballots.
Props to Crazy Legs for picking Ice-T’s album. A fookin’ masterpiece even if it is slightly too long.
@TM: Ice-T gets taken for granted. His records got so much play at the time but seem to get pushed aside.
so much classic material came out that pretty much everybodys list is correct. Only misses I see are the HEAL album (shit was wack) and the inexplicable 2 votes for BWP.
Helluva a year to name just a top 5, but I think I’d go with Harry Allens list, maybe Dr. Dre just off the strength of the Son of Bazerk LP
I wonder how they collected this in ’92? Easy today to send off a few emails. This was a lot of letters, faxes, phone calls and the importance of a skypager!
@Dan Chapelle: Good call, there would definitely have been a lot of beeper action to get these results.
