Here’s an hour of Select Records stuff that I rate, focusing on some of the less well-known releases as well as a few old favourites. Some great edit and dub versions in here, because as someone who focused my meagre funds on buying albums as a youf, I still marvel every time I find an old 12″ with extended versions or mixes with a few extra sounds thrown in for shits ‘n giggles.
Download: Select Records Mix [Re-upped]
Special mention has to go to the weird variation of the label for the Positively Black album:
Positively Black 🙏 Where are they now ???

Good looks on posting this …. Haven’t heard some of these joints since they dropped back in the day. I enjoyed the mix for sure .
Robbie, any thoughts of dropping a mixtape like the ones you dropped a while back? Definitely enjoyed them.
Nice mix of some underappreciated and lesser-heard joints. The Chosen Ones album is a slept-on classic (DJ Doc’s production was killer), and great to see so many other dope artists included here like Positively Black, E.S.P., True Mathematics, Chubb Rock, UTFO, Kid-N-Play, etc. One of my favourite 12s on Select has to be KGB’s “Pick Up The Pace.”
Wow man I’ve been looking for that Assassinator record for years. Style killed that joint. He was the brother of another MC in the industry but I can’t remember who.
they call me puma is the hardest shit ever.
ignorant shout rap on a musical score.
the acapella is golden. salute.
