Picked this up today on one of those dodgy bootlegs where the song was labeled as ‘EFX’ (Hip Hop Remix). From what I can gather from this perfect encapsulation of Rap Blog comment sections circa 2009, this may have been recorded in 1993 or 1994. To my ears it sounds more like something that would have been on a b-side from the Dead Serious era, but what would I know since I lost interest in them after shelling-out cash on Straight Up Sewaside and completely forgetting the entire album as soon as I heard it.
Those comments are a rap blog time capsule.
Straight Up Sewaside was a huge let down. BUT Hold It Down was a much better project.
