Not that this is relevant to your story, but when I first heard DMX back in the late 90s, I hated on him because he wasn’t lyrical — he was just barking and grunting.
Turns out that he sounds like Langston Hughes compared to these current day mumble rappers.
I think everybody has just read too much into a tweet from a washed-up 90s rapper. Crackhead X has no doubt burnt all his dogs/bridges/connections so has to resort to shouting into the cyber cave. Call me old fashioned but I reckon soliciting for beats via twitter is the least janky thing DMX has ever done. I’ve seen a fair few 90s rappers do the same. So it goes. I feel neither schadenfreude nor naïve betrayal by “the scene/culture.” Some days you’re the dog and other days you’re the lamppost. Today DMX is the lamppost.
Would X suck a dick for a brick tho?
Its not just rap music. Bands, dance music djs visual artists etc all deal with the same thing.
Lol at the DMX, Langston Hughes comparison, true!
Also nice Gas Face reference Robbie.
Hey it was worth a shot. Salud sir!
