Eighteen stellar moments from Godfather Donnie Brasco, who demonstrated fairly distinct styles throughout his numerous creative periods. From his ‘fast rapping’ techniques from the Hazardous LP to his experimental demo period through to his ‘singles’ phase at Hydra Entertainment (which I consider to be his peak), he then began to channel a slightly ‘jiggy’ street style for Diabolique before finishing off with the sparse minimalism of the Donnie Brascoe album. It’s a testament to his versatility as a musician that each of these stages bore worthy fruit (pause) before he walked away from rap game for good (save for last year’s 7″ single).

I just bought a sealed copy of The Cenobites cd for $55 last week, like a faggot. A guilty purchase I had no business making since its just going on the shelf. This compilation is nice, looking forward to actually listening to his music.
Ever since i read your article on Hydra Ent. in HHC and through that found the Almighty Godfather I’ve been a die hard fan of his. Thanx 4 yet another Marvelous comp. Robbie. I haven’t heard last years 7″ is it worth the wait? U still cross my fingers thst one day an interview w. the Man pops up on unkut.com but then again I still believe in the making of Metal Clergy😯
For the GD fans you NEED to own a copy of this http://www.choppedherringrecords.com/catalogue/category/item/index.cfm?asset_id=2551
especially for the song ‘Devils & Demons’
thanks rob
Thanks Robbie for opening my ears to the Godfather that is Don. I wish I’d not slept on him (pause) back in the later 1990s. Now I need to find a copy of Diabolique for a sensible price…
With the help of a retailer in Strong Island I now own new copies of all of Godfather Don’s albums (except the demos) plus a lot more of his production work. If the aim of an Unkut salute is to open ears to new music and put money in a dude’s pocket, it worked 100% this time. Don is a beast on the mic and board, I truly hope he returns to the great game.
can I get a re-Up Robbie?
