AZ is a great rapper who also made his mark as a Conservative Rap Coalition style icon thanks to his affinity for sweater vests, polos and sensible shirts. While he had to work a little harder than most to escape Nas’ shadow (I’ve deliberately excluded anything involving him here), when he has the right beat behind him there is no stopping The Visualiza absolutely annihilating the track.

And yes, AZ is in my Top 10.
YOUR WORLD DONT STOP IS CERTIFIED GODLY STATUS. A PERFECT SONG.
I always thought “I’m back” off Aziatic was fire. Buckwild did his thing.
Honestly outside of Illmatic and It was Written I feel Like AZ and Cormega actually have a lot more music I enjoy, cause Nas is pretty hit or miss despite how good of a rapper he is.
A to tha Mutha Fuckin Z
Always dug rather unique. Great one for djs to double up on mix tapes.
Keen to check the rest of this out.
‘City of gods’ is one of the best songs he ever did. That beat was flames, and how he flipped Rakim’s lines was crazy
even included Pieces of Man, dope list
What about maybe the Doe or Die remixes with Raekwon, Sunshine (Pieces of a Man lyrics over The Message), Animal, maybe Payback?
I agree with the dude Ben. AZ and Cormega have a better output than Nas. And AZ has enough of these for like 3 volumes. I’d like to see a Features AZ compilation with the continuation of leaving Nas collabs off. Also Yo Robbie I tweeted this to AZ with hopes that he’d do an in depth interview with you. Thanks for hitting the Like button, but I think it would be better to retweet these things. Dont worry about looking some kind of way (if you were), but knowing you, I know you dont care how you look. And I mean that in a positive way. Keep doing your thing. @hoodymoe
The Come Up…Always love me some AZ!! Doe or Die is a classic album
There’s an untitled bonus joint after The Hardest on the Undeniable album. Penmanship of pain right there….
Long time listener, first time caller. Props on this compilation, particularly the original version to “Your World Don’t Stop”. Ski is the truth but I prefer the Lou Donaldson flip Spunk Bigga did over the O’Jays song Ski used on the album version. Keep up the good work, I check on the site regularly..
Got a lot of good tunes, “i’m back”, “rather unique” and “seems that way” still get plenty of plays in my house.
Good mix. “This is what I do” and “magic hour” – Classic AZ. His new shit is a bit on the nose, however.
Can’t go wrong with Anthony Cruz..
