If you don’t enjoy the bombastic nonsense that is Greg Nice combined with the ultra relaxed musings of Smooth B then there isn’t much hope for you in life. I recommend drinking bleach, playing chicken with freight trains or challenging Just-Ice to a fist fight in order to hasten your ascent to the pearly gates/pits of hell/endless grey void that awaits you. For all the rest of you, please enjoy my favorite Nice & Smooth songs – in particular the unreleased ‘Turn It Out,’ which features the best use of Babe Ruth‘s ‘Keep Your Distance’ in some time and was re-recorded with a different beat for the Blazin’ Hot LP.

No Delaying has to be one of my favourite tracks of all time. This album can turn around any shitty day you may be having!
One of my favorite groups of all time Rob.
yep, smooth b and nice & smooth in general are mad underrated. definitely one of my favourite groups of all time
In my top 5 , EVER. Never get tired of N&S. They stay in constant rotation ever since No Delayin blew my fuckin mind in the 7th grade lol..
Hell yeah. The one-two punch of No Delayin’ and Funky For You…
Hell yeah. They in the rotation as one of the funkiest ever in Hip Hop.
“Nice & Smooth is back yall with another hit ….”
Been waiting on this from somebody…anybody…thanks..
Hard to listen to that how to flow First verse and hear a line that has not been sampled for a chorus or cut up! Classic stuff. Thanks.
Always liked the track they did with third bass too.
I never got into them. I’ll have to revisit this. I always liked Sometimes I Rhyme Slow as cheesy as it is. Couldn’t stand the Hip Hop Junkies single, thought it was gay.
Salute Robbie, I have never heard that version of work it out. Made my day
Yeah agree caesar on sometimes I rhyme slow. … That one was always like a guilty pleasure for me. Cheesy concept but well Executed.
I almost used the ‘Sometimes I Rhyme Slow’ remix but without the Tracy Chapman loop it loses it’s magic.
I used to love “Microphone Techniques” by 3rd Bass featuring Nice N Smooth. The beat was butter.
Another great Sam Sever production. I’d love to see an interview with him.
^^@ Robbie yeah the sample makes it just work. Always reminded me of how brand nubian used that what I am loop for slow down. Both tracks are great beats.
Could be a good list. . “Punk arse loops that are not punk arse because they work so well”.
Dope Not Hype! Thanks Robbie we’re steady building up a nice collection of these compilations.
No ‘Down The Line’? the posse cut still gets slated I see. I guess hearing Tim Westwood play it on a reggae sound system at Dingwalls and on Capital Radio back in the day helped forge my appreciation of the drum the bass that familiar loop and a few MC’s id never heard before, love that jam.
I like that Smooth B solo but it would have been a whole heap better imo if he’d not gone for the unenthusiastic sounding whisper rap on ‘Game Over’ can hardly hear him! spoiled that 12″ for me.
Dope… Nice & Smooth are criminally slept on. One of my favorite duo’s of hip-hop
Sometimes i rhyme slow remix was dope. Much different from original but dope on its own. I woulda liked hiphop junkies Spanish fly remix
Been listening to this non stop. I have all their albums but there are some nice uncommon joints on here
Perfect compilation,thanks man !!!!
Great list Robbie, Smooth B is highly underrated, i would add these on that list too
“Let’s All Get Down” feat. Slick Rick and this gem Nine “Dr Feelgood” ft. Nice, Smooth & Ill Al Skratch, and i agree 3rd Bass “Microphone Techniques” is dope!
Any chance of a re-up?
Needs a reup fam
