A.K.A. Where were the celebrations and think-pieces for the twentieth anniversary of To The East, Blackwards?

@Jaz: Cheers, just fixed it.
I can understand why the anniversary of Bushwick Bill was remembered as it gave the world Ever so clear. A truly fucked up song
Grand verbalizer knew what time it was!
Dark Sun Riders never get mentioned anywhere.
Thank you for this Robbie. Again, looking forward to the Paradise interview.
Glad that you mentioned the Dark Sun Riders album which is a true lost gem.
Good job, much-appreciated post.
To the East my brother to the East my brother To the East my brother
To The Eeeeeeast
great work rob.
Good one, Rob! With all the hoopla last year on Illmatic, It makes me think, next year is It Was Written’s 20th, will they throw a parade for that one too? And oddly enough, you would have thought with all the press Illmatic got, Puff would have had something major up his sleeve to milk the 20th anniversary of Biggie’s Ready To Die. Remarkably, dude fell back. Classy…
All the X Clan talk got me wanting a PRT piece.
Guess they keep on milking Illmatic cause it works. nearly every time I’m record shopping some fool is picking up a reissue..
Id like to see a think piece on Constipated Monkey and Done by the Forces of Nature
@oskamadison you not from Madison Ave in JC are ya? Know your from Greenville, thought it may be a play on words. I work with a young MC on Madison and Clinton..kid got serious skills
I second the three requests 357nyc made in his second last post.
I third that think piece.
Good article. A lotta rap fans do got selective memory. A million think pieces on Illmatic (good album tho) but albums just as good are forgotten like XClan. And I’m with 357NYC I want a PRT piece and where was these so called rap bloggers with their think pieces for Paris’s Guerrilla Funk!
@357NYC
Nah, I wasn’t from Madison but I have peoples that live in that section. JC has always had a lot of talent, heads just don’t support each other.
Why won’t the story pull up?
Nvmd got it.
True indeed, great article. It’s so Ironic because I just pulled out “to the east blackwards” a few days ago without even realizing the anniversary!!
Actually come to think of it too many ‘classics’ will be having anniversaries about now. Should just can the whole concept or it will be overload!
….But the idea of a word life think piece does sound good.
Hey what’s with this ‘thinkpiece’ concept anyway? Bet jeru never anticipated “20 years from now suckas gonna have themselves a think piece over this album. ..”
….. Think-piece is not the word to play…..
