Prior to his reign as The Rap Bandit, Danny Ozark went by the pen name Pistol Pete. For this column in the January 1991 issue of The Source, Pete invents ten rap rumors as an excuse to drop some hip-hop punchlines. Just think, before Twitter rappers had to listen to dumb myths about themselves for months and months! Progress.

Someone should cover rap magazine errors.

The most basic kind is lyric errors- in the preview for Glaciers of Ice, The Source article quotes the lyrics ‘Watch the alleycats bake ’em’ as being ‘My style will catch bacon’.

    Never forgot that one.

The Harlem Rights article below brought back some great memories, because I was there that day from beginning to end. From A Tribe Called Quest, setting things off around 12 to KRS One shutting it down around 7:30.

I still have my Source, all XXL mags ever published and Vibe magazines and I pull one out every now and then for articles such as this.
