In response to this Work of Mart, here are some more follow-ups that are worthy of the originals. Please send all complaints to the usual address.
The B-Boys – ‘Girls, Part 2’
Donald D, Brother B and Chuck Chillout knew that any good idea is worth milking.
Tragedy Khadafi – ‘Neva Die Alone 2’
CNN’s The War Report 2 may have been underwhelming, but Tragedy did a fine job of continuing the saga on his Still Reportin‘ LP with this Scram Jones winner.
Kool G Rap – ‘Fuck U Man‘
Forget the Smut Peddlers track, this CD and tape bonus cut with the Trackmasterz is the real follow-up to ‘Talk Like Sex.’
Scarface – ‘Mr. Scarface Is Back’
Brad ushered in his triumphant solo album with a fine continuation of this beloved GETO Boys track. The third part of the trilogy? Not so much.
Pete Rock feat. Kool G Rap and Large Professor – ‘Truly Yours 98’
Each of these gentleman address a different angle on this surprisingly effective combo from the Soul Survivor album.
M.O.P. feat. Heather B – ‘My Kinda Nigga Part II’
The sequel-laden First Family 4 Life LP kept the Heather B team-up from her album going in fine style.
Fat Joe feat. Big Punisher – ‘Twinz (Deep Cover 98)’
Big Moon Dog delivers his most memorable couplet of his all-too-short reign with this re-imagining of Snoop Doggy Dogg‘s infamous debut.
Mobb Deep – ‘The Bridge’
Of the eight or nine remakes of MC Shan‘s timeless classic, this is most effective and subdued. That being said, ‘The Bridge 2000’ with Trag and Iman THUG is also brilliant.
KRS-One – ‘P Is Still Free’
The best thing that Premier and KRS ever done did? That would be ‘Outta Here,’ but this is a close second.
Scaramanga – ‘Mind I.C. Mine 2k5‘
The abridged Showbiz beat isn’t as good, but this dude raps like a fuckin’ maniac on this.

So pissed I forgot Neva Die Alone 2 and The P Is Still Free!
Kane RAW 91
Mobb Deep Shook Ones PT2
Juice Crew Symphony Pt2
Raw 91 was terrible. Shooks Ones Pt 1 is barely a footnote and Symphony 2 is only notable for G Rap’s verse.
Redman’s entire Sooperman Luca series. EPMD’s Jane series?? Perhaps…
Mobb Deep – Serious (The New Message)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N1Y_Ml-7Ko
Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers
No Half Steppin – Don Caban
Ho stories pt 2 – Poison Clan
Ignant rap at its finest
Scaramanga “Mind I.C. Mine 2k5”?? where can i find this? never heard of that track…
@DaGrimeyWay: It’s from this CD: http://www.discogs.com/Scaramanga-Snake-Eyes/release/751149
The Rainy Dayz remix isn’t titled as a sequel but completely new lyrics, a kind of celebratory tone to it perhaps due to the success of the album and features Diamond D’s input? That remix was great I can still remember hearing it the first couple of times.
thanks Rob. i feel ashamed since i got that SCARAMANGA CD and didnt remember that track! need to search for that album in my crates and listen to it again – i remember it was a good one like COBRA COMMANDER and 7 EYES 7 HORNS..
Can’t stop the prophet 1&2 premo & Jeru are both serious
Return of the crookltn dodgers fosho
Oh, and I forgot:
Funkmaster Flex/Buckshot – No Joke
Craig Mack – Please Listen to My Demo
Diplomats – Bout it, Bout it Part 3
Feel The High Pt. II
Are we forgetting the greatest sequel of all time, Shook Ones Part II???
@gordonshumway: ‘Shook Ones Pt II’ out-shined the first part to the extent where the original was completely superseded.
Cosigns Lingo on Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers
She Swallowed it – NWA (sequel to Just Don’t Bite It)
Jane II – EPMD
The Militia pt. 2 – Gang Starr
@ Ceedub. *Nice
