This has been floating around for a few years but I only just caught it now. Sir IBU is currently on my Top 5 most-wanted interviews list.
dirty waters sez:
“This is pretty rare material here, a freestyle session featuring Big Daddy Kane, Sir Ibu (of the Divine Force), and the Kings of Swing (a group featuring Suga K, Mike Master and DJ Cocoa Chanelle). They all go verse for verse while DJ Kevvy Kev is cutting up the instrumental for Ultramagnetic MC’s ‘Give the Drummer Some’ and Marley Marl calls the shots. Not sure what radio show this was originally from, I pulled this off a Stretch Armstrong Show. Bobbito thanks Madame Superior, a long time WKCR listener, for sending the freestyle to play over the air.”
Ever since I heard Holy War on the 5 Deadly Venoms of Brooklyn mixtape I’ve been wanting to know more about Divine Force. Who’s who in the pic?
According to this piece by Kevin Beacham, the line-up was Ice T a.k.a Lady Nefertiti, Supreme and Sir Ibu: http://fifthelementonline.com/blogs/fifth-element/5884283-underground-legends-sir-ibu-divine-force
Ibu is on the Right, Supreme is on the other end. I can’t remember the girls name.
Robbie, If you want an Ibu interview hit me up and I might be able to facilitate it.

No Doubt! I remember that whole that Linden Blvd stretch and the surrounding blocks circa ’85-90. I’m a BK dude, and even I was surprised at the speed of how things moved out there!
