This one is from years back, when Pete Rock and CL Smooth bootlegs were the popping up every other day. I’m assuming the title is an attempt at some cheap humour, since three of these songs had very much ‘come out’ on movie soundtracks, and ‘In The House’ is just a regular old song from The Main Ingredient album. But never fear, because our mystery bootlegger has decided to throw the proverbial monkey wrench into the mix and ‘jazz’ a few of these tracks up.
‘Take You There (Foundation Mix)’ is a blend of the accapella with the ‘Can’t Stop The Prophet’ remix, ‘In Motion’ is a basic beat that doesn’t exactly carry any of Pete’s usual flair and might just be something the bloke who released this looped up on a tape deck, while the I’m also unsure as to whether or not the contribution of Lil A on the hook of the ‘TROY’ demo is legit either…
The weirdest moment, however, is the Philadelphia Cheese mix of ‘Death Becomes You’, which adds a live saxophone over the top of the only song I’ve ever heard where CL Smooth and Pete threaten to shoot people in the face with a shotgun (I guess it was a combination of method acting for the Menace II Society soundtrack and not wanting to sound like softies while sharing the booth with the YGz?). Earlier this year I was told this was put together by a dude who hung out at Liberty Groove in West South London and brought someone into the studio to add the sax! It takes quite the set of stones to decide, ‘You know what, Pete me ol’ geezer? Your songs alright, but I’ve got just the thing to really make it shine! Bill from down the pub used to play sax in our school band, and he said he’d wander past and spice-up this song for the princely sum of two pints of larger!’

Alright so that’s a trumpet but don’t tell Greg Nice.

Glad to see Only Fools & Horses made its way to Aus.
I think I know who did this Bootleg..LOL
LIES!! – Liberty Grooves was in Tooting, SOUTH London ;)
@Chris: Cheers for the correction, I sadly never got to visit.
Haha, I copped this a few months back, and I did wonder about the surprise horns, as it made my Pete Rock mix. I’ll have to retract it now, based on this solid evidence. On a sidenote, Horn Detective, can you confirm the extra amazing horns on the ‘OK, Why Remix’ isn’t the same dood from the pub?
