‘It was all good just a week ago.’ This is the classic Xtra-P interview which led to Eric B. responding the following issue and a bunch of shit going down behind the scenes. Classic material.

Does anybody know who buys old rap/hip hop mags? Im talking whole subscriptions of the favorites.
“…False producers and tellin’ lies…” You don’t say. I love how Large salutes Paul C. every chance he gets… That’s real…
eric b was on the combat jackshow last month still insisting he did all the production
Interesting to see how he basically disses NWA at a certain point. I wonder if they ever responded…
He produced “Money in the Bank”- one of my absolute favourites of all-time. Needed an instrumental or a single release. Such a prolific and masterly producer. “Breaking Atoms” is also one of hip-hop’s greatest achievements. It’s up there with the best of the best.
Thanks for another great interview Robbie, even if it came from elsewhere. It’s reminded me to re-read the Paul C special in Big Daddy magazine. I’m sure I bought Breaking Atoms in January or February 1991, but The Source have it coming out a few months later. The start of Snakes Eyes with Extra P chanting “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!” heralded a new era in Hip Hop.
@mike: u meen that u gots zines 4 sale?
Dude is a legend. I caught him the other night in Sydney with Lord finesse. Great show. I even managed to get my cd of professor at large signed beforehand, first time I have ever asked for a sig. (didn’t plan ahead and it was all I had in the car at the time – would have loved to get my copy of think/atom signed).
On that nwa thing I saw another interview where he said he made “baseball” out of solidarity with their message. Maybe this comment was aimed at bwp and the more Corny acts around. Or he was compensating in the other comment.
I wonder if the artist they referred to as Niles in this was actually Nasty Nas.

Your right, so much I delved into the tapes and uploaded this for all. We were hearing Breaking Atoms early.
Upload SEPTEMBER 1990 Tim previewing cuts from forthcoming Main Source LP.
@travesty I definitely think he was talking about Nas. Niles, hahah.
Haha @ Niles. .. I didn’t pick that up and was reading the interview wondering what happened to this Niles guy.
@Mike: I might. What are we talking?
I remember having a few songs off Breaking Atoms in 90 for sure. ‘Front Door’, ‘Atom’, but the album dropped early 91 for sure. I remember playing ‘Scratch & Kut’ as my warm up song before b-ball games.
So Nas was really signed to Eric B. in 90! And P was signed as well as a Producer. They had 11 tracks completed by 91 which means they recorded in 90 during the Let the Rhythm Hitem sessions. Mind Blown. I know P did the demo with like 5 but 11? We need that…P was a Boy Genius. Got taken advantage of by a Street Dude who ruined multiple careers. And P admitted he ghosted for Marley on Illegal Search and couple of others on LL Mama. Wish somebody would really investigate this…
