The qualification to make it onto this compilation requires that two or more of the rappers were never heard from again (( Prophet and Kwazi being the exception, they turned up on Shyheim’s first album)). Let us sit back and bask in the fleeting glory that is getting to rap on your pal’s album on account of being a faithful weed carrier or always ensuring that the studio fridge is full of ice cold beers.

The first joint I thought of was LL’s Farmers Blvd. and there it is at number two. Another one for ya: Master Ace’s As I Reminisce from Take A Look Around.
Great concept Robbie. 3 Blind Mice by Pete Nice, Down the Line by Nice and Smooth and Pass the 40 by Black Sheep fit the bill. Ice and Uneek from As I Reminisce are on the subsequent Go Where I Send Thee. Sorry if I sound like a smartarse.
@Chris: Since Dave Gossett and Chris Lighty weren’t actually rappers I left ‘Pass The 40’ off.
Understood Robbie. 3 Blind Mice meets the criteria in that Pete Nice didn’t record anything after his album.
Ice and Uneek aka EyceUrock were kinda all over ‘Slaughterhouse’, though.
Although it’s good to look out for your hometown, Reggie “Redman” Noble’s last few albums all have at least one posse cut of never beens.
How about whole crew posse cuts like ASAP -“Wrek The Art” or The Rose Family – “Beaches & Cream”, where these cats at?
Good concept. My first thought was the black Sheep one too.
Always liked the spontaneous cut but may have been the beat moreso than the mcs.
Also dug that Pete nice one.
What about torture all over that jungle bros album then disappeared.
@Chris: Pete Nice had a career though. This is about dudes who did one or two guest spots and then vanished.
lol its a “salute to milk carton posse cuts”, not “the comprehensive anthology of all obscure rapper dude and their family cuts ever committed to a 2 inch reel”! still fun discussion – down the line also a good one, I still can’t believe there wasnt more discussion of that blatant jacking of the manifest beat at that time…
Hang on that p nice cut had Kurious and another dude I think never heard from again on it though (benz iirc?)
@ Chris Pete nice not on no milk carton though. Now well known baseball memorabilia collector / author and alleged fraudster if u Google it.
@Robbie and Oneam. Yes indeed, I admit I was overzealous in my application of the qualifying criteria – As we’ve heard nothing else from Benz or Pete Nice since Dust to Dust, but Kurious has continued. I’ve been staring at my records for the past 10 mins thinking “there must be more posse cuts in there…”
@ Chris W. and Fosterakahunter
Didn’t realize that was Eyceurock. I stand corrected…
pete rock – best believe ft redman and LD?
Dope comp Robbie
Chris Ward…Benz was in Dredknotz
Riders Of The Storm by the Boogiemonsters debuts Cosmic Ray and Xtreem of Bizzr Xtreems and Basic, Ajaru, Baba Wisdom of Jagged Edge. This didn’t set off any careers.
@ Jaz… I also stand corrected. With optimism I checked to see if Self Destruction by the Stop the Violence Movement qualifies, but alas it doesn’t.
Cage was also on that Pete Nice cut so that disqualifies that one…he’s still rocking…
Robbie, can you re post this salute please for download?
Please re-up the download link if you can. Thx.
