The obvious thing to do when focusing on the work of T La Rock is to wheel out his trusty classic “It’s Yours”, which is not only a great song but is also widely regarded as the first Bass song ever.
Instead, I’ve decided to throw-up the ’93 version, which appeared on the b-side to “C’Mon Baby”, one of the numerous “cut ‘n paste” party records that Funkmaster Flex released on Wreck/Nervous Records around that time (he also did several 12″s with 9MM aka Nine). Thrown in as a bonus mix of “Butterfly Style”, the track combines a looped snippet of Flavor Flav working the crowd with a dash of “The Champ” and “Rockin’ It” thrown in for good measure. Portions of “The 900 Number” and “Do The James” round off proceedings, while T recreates his original rhymes, adding a suitably “rugged” new verse and some shout-outs at the end.
Funkmaster Flex & The Ghetto Celebs featuring T La Rock – It’s Yours ’93 (Wreck, 1993)

Yeah this was a dope cut although not something i’ve played in a while.
The original, however, gets play at least once a week and “6 million ways to die” by Flex still gets bump.
funny how back then Funkflex used to work with real emcees now he stricly plays garbage and works with the wackest ever.
This was a tight song, but I wish it could be remastered to where the bass could hit harder. But other than that, it’s a hot joint
