A few months ago Random Rap Radio dug up an early MC DJ Flavor tape from the Spectrum City era when Terminator X was still calling himself DJ Mellow Dee. The hook for this record is nothing short of incredible.

indeed
I love Bob Dylan’s version of this classic.
Supposedly, Flavor was working on an LP in the early 90s. The fact that Def Jam didn’t release makes me wonder if they ever got him in the studio.
Really hope that tracks did get laid down & get released one day.
Cold Lampin on the incredible Nation of Millions LP is a definite stand out. Love the way it was used in Ghost Dog
@nick, sure ‘Cold Lampin’ and even ‘911 Is A Joke’ are classic Flavor, but did you ever hear the album he did release?
@Fosterakahunter I must admit I havn’t heard Flavor’s 2006 album and have no plans to do so! :-) There is a massive difference though between a potential LP made in the early 90’s with Bomb Squad on production and Flavor’s creative juices still fresh and an album cut in 2006. It’s all conjecture on my part though. Maybe it was just on Def Jam’s “wish list”. Would be interesting to know the truth though.
I tried to listen to the Flav LP to check the song with Smooth B. Big mistake.
One of the highlights of golden era rap is the Flavor Flav verse on “I’m Only Out For One Thang” off Cube’s “Amerikkka’s Most Wanted”. Just sayin’.
That demo just cracked my brain. So damn good.
That Flav album in 2006 wasn’t all bad. Just mostly. It did feature this illness:

Remember reading an interview with him where the writer mentioned in the introductory notes that he had recorded an lp but R Simmons refused to release it. Writer mentioned it was a rumour, not sure if he was right. The interview was just after 2000 or before.
