I present the first (and only) edition of M-Low News, possibly the finest collection of press clippings ever included in a rap single. M-LOW (aka Music Lovers of the World) was the Rocky Bucano’s first foray into the music business, before he teamed-up with Jazzy Jay to form Strong City. The first release from Wayne & Charlie (The Rapping Dummy) went about as well as you’d expect, but things improved with the second platter, as ‘Crime’ boasted early contributions from Grand Puba Maxwell on vocals and Teddy Riley on production.
But back to M-Low News. There are a number of things to enjoy here, starting off with the picture of Puba, Dr. Who and DJ Shabazz sporting their finest tuxedo and white glove combo. Next up, there’s the ‘Pick Hit’ review which mentions The Garage, Mike Oldfield and The Roxy, while claiming that the ‘Dub’ version is the crowning glory of this vinyl. The CMJ New Music Report then chimes in with the standard ‘Rap Is Crap’ nonsense, claiming that this record is good because it’s actually…a pop record?

Fantastic! Young Poobah! Shouts to Rocky Bucano, best of luck with UHHM.
Great Track
