“Foul Child: The Legend of Big L incorporates rare archival interviews and performance footage of Big L alongside exclusive interviews with cultural consiglieres of Hip Hop and Harlem including RZA, Buckwild, A$AP Ferg, Dave East, A$AP Twelvyy, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia and Peter Rosenberg.”
You wot, mate?
Buckwild/Stretch and Bob are clearly qualified to talk about Big L since they actually knew him, but it seems odd that none of the following seem to be involved:
Cam’Ron
Ma$e
Herb McGruff
Lord Finesse
Showbiz
Diamond D
T-Ray
A.G.
Jay-Z
Fat Joe
O.C.
Guess I’ll wait until I actually see the doco but I’m not getting my hopes up…

Rap docs are about as interesting as Big Daddy Kane’s Prince of Darkness album.
@Caesar: I should save myv real complaints for when they do a dramatised bio-pic series with some jerk playing the role of Big L on Netflix.
I said the same thing when Complex released that Horse Power documentary on Ralph Laurens influence on Hip Hop. They Interviewed people like 2Chainz & Asap Ferg but Zhiggie, Grand Puba, Cormega, & Other rappers who used to rock Lo heavy were no where to be found.
by the way, get on down just announced a 25th anniversary rerelease of big l’s first album … triple vinyl set including all tracks that didn’t make the cut for the commercial release back then plus “devil’s son” … instead of this multicolored hipster crap or the 7″ of the “devil’s son” single, they should’ve offered a black vinyl version…
Get On Down love an pointless reissue. Next up, a quadruple vinyl, gatefold reissue of that lost classic, “Beats, Rhymes and Life”.
Probably because the new cats ain’t gonna press play if they see that lineup of old heads Robbie… looking like they’re tryna revive the publishing, I’ll watch it
Pov comes from the versuz battles…. the Badu/Jill battle saw a 300% boost in music streams for them
Although I agree with y’all… hope they don’t ruin it….L has a dead catalog
To parrot myself from below it was for the new cats…and with Ralph’s son in charge now it was smart marketing to show the generational link of the brand
who the hell is dave east
@$yk: Yeah I’m not suggesting they don’t include any younger dudes but they seem to be really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
the talent pool is/been thin Robbie…crc knows this
Dave East is garbage.
Can someone please provide me links to an active site where Hip Hop from the 70s to the present is discussed. The site must host comments, images & media & be active.
