Let’s say, for arguments sake, that you could only take six rap albums into outer space/to the grave/to a deserted island. What would they be, and why? My picks are as follows:

Godfather Don spotted on Soundcloud
Thanks to a hot tip from Wave Foundation, it appears that God Don really is serious about a return to rap world in the wake of the announcement of the album he’s currently recording with Scaramanga and Mike El and his new 7″ release from earlier this year. Could this mean that Donnie Brasco has…
Download: A Salute To Scaramanga
Sir Menalik aka Cyclops 4000 aka Scaramanga aka Jabbar El aka Chewbacca Uncircumcised first made a name for himself reading out technical manuals on Dr. Octagon, but it was his Scaramanga material that really made an impression on CRC-minded rap fans as he delivered wordy jiggnorance over outstanding beats. Both versions of ‘Mind I.C. Mine’…

Download: A Tribute To Phife Dawg
It’s a tough gig to live in the shadow a rap renaissance man such as a Q-Tip, but Phife Dawg proved himself the ultimate team player and an essential part of the mighty group known as A Tribe Called Quest. Having started off as a largely forgettable sidekick on the first album, Phife stepped up…
No Country for Old (Rap) Men: Action Bronson live at The Forum, Melbourne
Bronson and Meyhem brought hard beats and rhymes to a hall full of scenesters, and it was good. No Country for Old (Rap) Men: Action Bronson live at The Forum, Melbourne
No Country for Old (Rap) Men: Why does Martin Shkreli think Wu-Tang is something to fuck wit?
Say what you will about the guy, but this is some first-class trolling. No Country for Old (Rap) Men: Why does Martin Shkreli think Wu-Tang is something to fuck wit?
