Twelve Thirty

12:30 happens every day…An installation of new ceramic works by Jess Lyons.

An encounter, experience and curatorial engagement with the stair landing, the position of sunshine over time – focusing on 12:30pm to observe the unobserved. Cylindrical ceramic ‘core samples’ that are themselves theoretical objects (that capture time and visual striations) have been used like yardarms or markers to delineate the seepage of light and time on both horizontal and vertical planes.
Cloistered like relics – they are extruded from a time before. A physical embodiment, a bleeding between a space that occupies time historically, in the present – metaphysically – an activation of abeyant indicators.
