I HATE TO SAY THIS SHIT, BUT I PREFER RAPPERS WHO ARE PHYSICALLY ATTRACTIVE, I CANT GET INTO THIS GUY.

I’ve never heard a full song from this kid but the snippets I heard sounded about as shamelessly lyrical myrical as possible.

He good…he just need to developers concepts and song ideas better…he master that and he may be good…I mean he went in what 1 year from under unknown kid to being on tracks with legends and even on TV in the breaks…give the kid a chance to grow..

Jay pretty much said it well. I for one am happy to see a kid with focus on the technical skill aspect again in this sport called rap.

@Jay: That’s what I’m saying. He’s got potential but isn’t quite there yet.

rap is full of shit nowadays with real talent being hard to find and you still need to get on a high horse about a kid with bags of potential who sounds pretty dope…esp if you compare him to the artists in your side bar

I only paid attention cause of an interview w Sadat X who gives kid props, but then again X also likes Schoolboy Q, sooooo….. I must say you are totally right, it gets totally gibberishly after a while. It gives me the same feeling as a rock guitar (masturbation) solo going on and on and… There are a lot of cool cats out there So dont make it sound like he is the savior of something. Go Roc Marcy, Ka, Booze bruvas etc.

Schoolboy Q is the hardest, realest rapper out now of the young crop. If you haven’t actually listened to Oxymoron or the Blank Face LP straight through from beginning to end you shouldn’t be commenting. For 2014 & 2016 major label mainstream rap, Schoolboy Q goes in sonically and lyrically.

Now as far as AFRO is concerned. He’s what I have call a “babble rapper”. He raps and raps and raps and can put words together and recite them in a nice way, but what is he saying? NOTHING.

He’s the kind of guy keep it real backpackers that lack soul and depth love because he’s “not commercial”. He drops no science and speaks on nothing of relevance. Action Bronson without the personality. No thanks I’ll pass.

I like the young’un. A little redundant at times? Sure but at least he’s putting in the work and studying the greats instead of goin’ the Desiigner route and biting Future or whoever. I’m sure he’ll get better as he gets a better understanding of who he is as an artist.

I’m sick of hearing stuff like that. I heard similar arguments when it came to Joey Badass. It’s like if you’re not ready for primetime, we shouldn’t be talking about or hearing from you. Stay in your bedroom and hone your craft.

The kid is highly skilled. But sometimes that doesn’t always translate to record. He sounds a bit monotonous to me with his cadence being similar on every record. It’s not very interesting when I listen. I haven’t given the project with Marco Polo a spin yet tho. I have a feeling I may actually like that project. He’s got what it takes and I give him the benefit of the doubt when I see his name on the record. Hopefully his newer material will interest me more.

Chahlee chace: I tried really really tried to eat my way through Oxymoron. Like Kendrick I just don’t get it! Really I don’t. It reminds me of some wack Triple Six shit! Sorry, guess I’m to ignorant and want my rap to be hard East Coasting violent shit! Guess that’s why I keep ending up on unkut.com

Rel: So u don’t like Biggie??

@ Pete: Hoover Street(that beat change is dope), Gangsta, and Break the Bank go hard.

Schoolboy Q is hard west coast 2015 violent shit. But to each their own of course.

@Rel – you should check yourself.. sounds like you are gay

If he can do more songs like Joe Jackson he got a fan in me.

I’ll give him six months to abandon that lyrical miracle style for some substance. A lot of his heroes was around his age when they began speaking some real shit..

the kid sounds like Percee P. Gimme the rhyme inspector over him.
