This song was my first introduction to the talents of Large Professor as a rapper, and remains a firm favourite to this day. In 2006, P-Vine records from Japan pressed-up the alternative ‘Uncut’ mix on a 12″ in Japan, providing some extra lyrics and scratching, which was good times. Then yesterday I heard a radio rip from the You Tube channel The Pause Tape King (who records everything via video on his phone instead of ripping it direct from tape), which sports a whole new loop and bassline!
When I went to look for it again, I stumbled onto a third version, a remix by John Waddell which is only found on the UK cassette version of the Wild Pitch Classics compilation (which also has an unleased UMC’s thing titled ‘Hass/Kim Intro’). This is the same guy who got GangStarr’s ‘Love Sick’ into the top 20 pop charts in Australia with his extra jazzy, fast remix of ‘Love Sick’, but this time around the temp stays the same but with more added instumentation. You know those Acid Jazz dudes love themselves some Jazz Flute!

I went on the hunt for it after reading this article, but no joy. Hopefully one day you’ll find it so it can finally be heard by people who don’t have the Wild Pitch tape.
