The original ‘Best Producer On The Mic’ is showing no signs of slowing down in 2019 with the release of The Diem Piece 2, so I thought it was about time to showcase those rare moments when he takes centre stage. Grown Man Talk and The Diamond Mine from the early 00’s had some great moments amongst the crowded guest lists. From his early light-hearted ‘Holy Mackeral’ era through to the more cynical ‘punch you in the face if you front’ rapping of his later work, D-Squizzy can always be relied on to deliver the goods.

Diamond D is the perfect example of less is more his style is no frills, straight forward, and just works.
I don’t really get it why some people choose the 45 king remix over the original version of “best kept secret”…
imo, “red light green light”, “freestyle (yo that’s that shit)” and “mc iz my ambition” are great tracks that would fit in your category.
@kool max power: The remix sounds amazing on a big system. What’s not to like?
The solo track he did with Aim from 2001, ‘The Omen’ is the illest joint for me after his debut, check it out…
the kelloggs nascar avirex
@3BM-Ark: I meant to put that on actually but somehow it got lost in the sauce.
@Robbie: don’t get me wrong the 45 king remix is nice, nothing wrong with it, but I prefer the og version all day … the beat sounded so fresh back then, plus the kane sample at the hook kills it…
Word to hot sauce
Gather Round is such a banger.
According to IMDb there’s a Diamond D song called Impossible Mission on the soundtrack to a movie called Joe’s Apartment from 1996. I can’t find it anywhere. Hard to google Diamond and Impossible Mission without getting a bunch of Tom Cruise related content. The same movie had that De La Soul song Funky Towel where they’re dancing with cockroaches in the video.
I thought when it pours it rains had other cats on it.. i think babu and them edited them out on soundbombing.. “good/bad” was a dope joint of his last “solo” lp
another good one is the joint he did with Gensu Dean “Principles And Codes”. Diamond has gotten a hell of a lot better over the years. I think he and AG have the sharpest pens in DITC these days…
